Erasmus+ Project “I’m Here Too” in Catania, Sicily 🌍

From 26 to 30 May, two teachers and two LSEs from our school’s Erasmus+ team took part in the Erasmus+ mobility project “I’m Here Too” at the ITI S. Cannizzaro in Catania, Sicily.

The theme of this project – “I’m Here Too” – focuses on inclusion and diversity in education. During the week, our staff engaged in a range of creative and inclusive activities through the use of music, including:

🎵 Learning Mathematics through music
🧘 Practising breathing exercises
♟️ Playing chess as a tool for cognitive development
📹 Story with rhythm

These innovative methods highlighted how alternative approaches can be powerful tools to support emotional, social, and academic growth. The experience also provided valuable insight into the Italian education system, allowing our team to draw comparisons with the Maltese system, enriching our perspectives and teaching practices.

Our team had the pleasure of working alongside our project partners, the hosting school in Catania, ARSU Academy for Lifelong Learning and Development Germany e.V. from Berlin, Germany, and Aktepe Ortaokulu, Denizli, Turkey, building strong connections and sharing best practices in inclusive education.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Erasmus team at ITI S. Cannizzaro for their warm welcome, inspiring collaboration, and outstanding hospitality.
