SCHOOL TIME-TABLE

From September to May, school hours are from 8.15 a.m. to 2.15 p.m., seven lessons of 45 minutes each. There are 2 breaks of 15 minutes and 30 minutes respectively. The first break follows the third lesson while the second break follows the fifth lesson. In June, school hours are from 8.15 a.m. to 12 p.m., seven lessons of 30 minutes each, with a 15 minute break following the fourth lesson Each student is expected to go to the football ground at least 10 minutes before the first bell rings.


DAILY HOLY MASS

Every day on school days we have a Holy Mass which starts at 7.45 a.m. The bell rings for the Holy Mass at 7.40 a.m. Students are expected to attend daily for the Holy Mass.


THE ASSEMBLY

Every day the school assembly starts at 8.07 a.m. As soon as the bell rings, the students are expected to form a line for each class. Before the assembly the students can use only the football ground however no ball games are allowed before the assembly and during the first break.


THE SCHOOL UNIFORM

In summer: (from the first day of school till the end of October and from the beginning of May to the end of June): the seminary white or blue Polo Shirt, grey trousers (not jeans) and a pair of black shoes.

In winter: (from the beginning of November till the end of April): a white Shirt, grey trousers (not jeans), Seminary tie (diagonal black and white stripes), seminary badge, and a grey jersey. In case there is no logo embroidered on the jersey, the seminary badge should be attached to the jersey.

N.B. From November till the end of April, all students must wear the blazer. The seminary badge is attached to the blazer.

When the students have PE lessons, they should come to school wearing the track suit instead of the school uniform. Besides, they should wear the seminary burgundy T-Shirt and the black shorts, and a pair of running shoes.

In October and May students are expected to come to school with the school uniform and bring the PE kit and the running shoes with them in a separate bag.

The shoes should be such that they do not leave any markings when used during physical activities. Students with marking shoes are not allowed to use the gym.

Students are expected to come to school in full uniform. Students not wearing their full uniform are sent back home to get their full uniform and then come back to school.

Students are expected to have clean, combed hair; the hair should be neatly cut without any particular style or designs. The hair should not be bleached or with highlights. Whenever gel is applied it should be very moderate. In case too much gel is used, the student is sent to wash the gel away, or sent home to arrange his hair style in line with school rules and then return back to school.

When wearing the seminary uniform, earrings, bracelets, chokers and other such jewellery is not allowed. In case any student is caught wearing any such objects, the student should give these objects to any staff member without expecting to receive them back.


MOBILE PHONES

Students should know that the Education Division prohibits mobile phones in schools. Thus:-

Students should never bring the mobile phone with them in school. In case a student is found carrying the mobile phone with him in school, the headmaster will ask the student to remove the SIM Card from the mobile phone and hand the mobile phone to the headmaster. The headmaster will inform the student’s parents or guardians and will keep the mobile phone in the student’s file until the end of the scholastic year.
In case a student needs to call anyone as an emergency, he can call from the secretary’s or the headmaster’s office without incurring any charge.
In case a student needs to bring a mobile phone with him to school for an extraordinary reason, he should turn off the mobile phone and leave it with the school secretary or with the headmaster before the assembly, and picks it up after the last lesson before leaving the school premises.


HOMEWORKS

Students are expected to do their homeworks well, neatly and present them to the respective teachers on time. Whenever a student does not present his homework on time without any sufficient reason, a White Card is noted in the student’s school diary and in the school’s record book. The following day the student should give his homework to the teacher. The teacher should check the student’s diary for the signature of any one of the student’s parents or guardians, and the student is obliged to remain in school till 3.00 p.m.


ATTENDANCE

Every student is expected to come to school every day and be punctual for every lesson. A student is excused:-

In case of sickness. In case a student is ill and fails to attend school for one or two days during the same month, his parents or guardians are to call the school secretary and inform the school about the student’s absence from school. If the student is absent from school for three or more days, the student should present a medical certificate on the first day when he returns to school.

In case of an appointment in hospital or clinic. In this case, a note should be given to the headmaster beforehand. It is advisable that the student does not lose a whole day of school. It would be better if the student returns to school as soon as he finishes, if the appointment is early in the morning. In case the appointment is in the afternoon, the student is encouraged to come to school in the morning and then leave school to be on time for his appointment, either accompanied by a parent or otherwise the student should present a note from his parents to be dismissed from school.

In case of a serious situation in the family. If this is the case, the headmaster should be informed with the actual family situation.


PROHIBITED ITEMS IN SCHOOL

It is absolutely prohibited to bring the following items to school: alcohol, sprays, cigarettes, safety matches, lighters, and any other illegal substances.

Other objects which are prohibited in school include: pointed and sharp objects, radios, newspapers, gold, mobile phones, cameras, and literature, pictures, CDs and floppy disks that may offend the common moral standards of the Christian people.


OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

No one can bully any one. Anyone who is a victim of bullying must speak to the headmaster right away.

Whoever damages or breaks anything, must inform the school administration right away. In any case, whether the damage is done accidentally or on purpose, one should pay for the damage, but if it is done on purpose, misbehaviour will be punished.

Correcting fluid is prohibited in school. Although one may use correcting tape, whenever a student wishes to delete a mistake, he can cross the mistake out and rewrite the correct answer over or near the mistake.
